Dr. Rosen Receives Development Award for Elder Abuse Research


Dr. Tony Rosen, an Instructor in Medicine in the Emergency Division, has received the Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging from the National Institute on Aging and the American Federation for Aging Research for his groundbreaking research on elder abuse. Specializing in geriatric emergency medicine, Dr. Rosen has been awarded $800,000 over the next five years to study injury patterns and forensic biomarkers in victims of elder abuse, as compared to victims of unintentional falls. Dr. Rosen’s research seeks to improve an emergency physician’s ability to identify cases of abuse in patients who arrive to the Emergency Department.
