Employee Recognition Program: Winners Announced at Annual Party 2014

The Employee Recognition Review Committee (R3) of the Weill Department of Medicine announced five new Super Star winners at the Annual RRR (Results, Rewards, Recognition) Reception held at the Griffis Faculty Club on November 6, 2014. Super Star winners were: Miosoty Rivera, Senior Medical Secretary (Pulmonary), Sonio Orona, Senior Clinical Technician (Gastroenterology/Hepatology), Clarissa Rodriguez, Medical Technician (Cardiology), Lisa Brooks, Senior Administrative Specialist (Cardiology), and Lisette Torres, Senior Patient Coordinator (Cardiology).

Miosoty Rivera, who trains new staff, was noted for instilling effective work habits; Sonio Orona, a highly skilled phlebotomist, has greatly impressed the patients; Clarissa Rodriguez was noted as the type of clinical technician you want on the front lines; Lisa Brooks was noted for her outstanding 15 years of service overseeing complex cath procedure settings and coordination a fellowship; and Lisette Torres has ensured seamless transitions in the cardiology division earning high praise form the patients and physicians.

Each year a select number of department employees are named as Bronze Star performers, which means they have been chosen two years in a row for outstanding service. This year's Bronze Star performers were: Tony Nepomuceno, Patient Coordinator, Weight Management and Metabolic Research Center; Anna Quinones, a Senior Medical Secretary at the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease; and Nadine Sylvain, a payroll manager with the Weill Department of Medicine's Administration Office.

Other awards of note given at the reception included: Rising Star (Jessica Martinez, Hematology and Medical Oncology); Guiding Star (Nadine Sylvain, Administration); Shining Star (Tony Nepomuceno, Endocrinology/Weight Management); and Shooting Star (Susan Daniel, Pulmonary).

The many other excellent Star Performers listed during the past two bimonthly cycles were: Jenny Torres, Senior Patient Coordinator (Cardiology); Kaitlin Schroeder, Medical Secretary (Gastroenterology and Hepatology); Ilene Rivera, Patient Coordinator (Cardiology); and Gina Rodriguez, Patient Coordinator (Cardiology).
