Thank you for your interest in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. We offer a three-year fellowship leading to certification in both pulmonary and critical care medicine. Four positions are available each year through the Medical Specialty Matching Program. Fellows spend a total of 18 months on the clinical service and 18 months in our research program. The clinical service provides both formal course work and rotations on the division’s pulmonary consultation service, and medical, neurological, and cardiothoracic intensive care units in the state-of-the-art NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and Hospital for Special Surgery facilities. Fellows are trained to master all procedures of pulmonary and critical care medicine under the supervision of clinical faculty. The division also has educational conferences on weekly, bimonthly and quarterly schedules.
Our structured research program is led by world renowned researchers in the fields of acute lung injury, sepsis, COPD, interstitial lung disease, pneumonia, and pulmonary hypertension. Fellows are mentored on individualized projects with the goal of authorship, national conference abstracts, and ultimately the tools and skills to develop an academic career, including the pursuit of NIH funding opportunities after fellowship.
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). No paper applications will be accepted. Interviews are by invitation only. Invitations for interviews will be extended from July 1 through August 15, 2017. H1B visas are no longer supported by NYPH or our fellowship program.
A complete application packet includes:
- An ERAS application
- 3 Letters of recommendation
- ECFMG Certification (for foreign medical graduates)
