Educational Opportunities

In addition to strong clinical training, the program offers a wide variety of opportunities to enrich the training experience of each resident. Drawing upon broad and diverse faculty expertise in many different fields, residents take advantage of educational opportunities in these fields:

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and the Weill Cornell Internal Medicine residency program are committed to educating trainees on the importance of quality improvement (QI), patient safety, and high-value care.

Medical Education

All residents receive training in core teaching and leadership skills throughout residency, including setting expectations, establishing a positive learning climate, teaching on rounds, best practices in feedback delivery, and assisting learners in need.

Simulation Training and Ultrasound

A comprehensive simulation program is offered with three primary components: bedside procedures, point-of-care ultrasonography, and code team training.

Global Health

The Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Global Health is a part of the NIH Global Health Network and supports major international programs in Brazil, India, and Tanzania.
