Information for Applicants

Thank you for your interest in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program at the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. We offer a three-year ACGME accredited combined fellowship. Five positions are available each year through the Medical Specialty Matching Program. Our mission is to train outstanding pulmonary and critical care specialists who forward our field as academic leaders, scientists, and scholars in pulmonary and critical care medicine

The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine participates in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). In general, applicants shall be U.S. citizens or green card holders because of our funding sources for trainees. Occasionally, J1 visas can be accommodated.

In alignment with the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD), our national professional society, and to ensure a uniform interview process equitable to all applicants, our fellowship interviews for applicants in 2023-2024 will be held exclusively virtually. We will not offer in-person site visits. The full recommendation is available here.

Interviews will occur virtually in September and October and are filled on a rolling basis. Invited applicants will receive a link to a website with more details about the virtual interview process. Applicants will have an overview of the program, a virtual “lunch hour” with our fellows who can share their experiences with the program and with New York City, and will meet with faculty who share their clinical, research, and/or education interests.

A complete application packet includes:

  • All required ERAS application fields
  • 3 letters of recommendation, including Residency Program Director’s Letter of Recommendation
  • Personal statement
  • A photo (optional)
