Adding potent research firepower and fresh physical perspectives to combat cancer, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) has funded the new Center on the Microenvironment and Metastasis, which will be headquartered at Cornell University. It is one of 12 new research centers across the nation recently announced by the NCI. This grant is for $13 million over five years.

As an internationally recognized leader in clinical research in HIV, Dr. Gulick led one of the first studies of 3-drug combination antiretroviral therapy for HIV infection which ultimately redefined the standard-of-care for HIV treatment and lead to dramatic declines in HIV-related morbidity and mortality.
Dr. Ralph Nachman served as the chairman of the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell from 1990 to 2007 and is presently the Lewis Thomas University Professor of Medicine and the Associate Dean for Clinical Research.
