Dr. Pinkal Desai
The WDOM congratulates Dr. Pinkal Desai who has been selected as a 2022 recipient of the Ritu Banga Healthcare Disparities Research Award, which recognizes the tremendous research conducted by WCM investigators to improve the health of underrepresented minorities and/or to reduce health disparities.
Dr. Desai’s research project is focused on understanding racial and ethnic disparities in premalignant states in myeloid malignancies. The award provides Dr. Desai with a one-time amount of $50,000 for the development and completion of her project. Dr. Desai was a recipient in the faculty category and received the grant at Weill Cornell’s Celebration of Diversity on April 25, 2022.
