Latest Vitals: Featuring Dr. Shira Sachs and Dr. Laura Kirkman

Recently on Vitals, Dr. John Leonard welcomed Dr. Shira Sachs, a hospitalist and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine, and Dr. Laura Kirkman, Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Sachs discussed her work as a hospitalist and expressed particular fondness for her experience as a mentor for trainees, particularly as an associate program director of our Department’s residency program.

Dr. Kirman reflected on her work studying the complexities of drug resistance in malaria and efforts to refine vaccinations against the disease.

Vitals is our employee engagement series, in which guests enjoy casual conversation with Dr. John Leonard about their role, a personal story or "fun fact" that may surprise colleagues, and the opportunity to ask Dr. Leonard a question about the Department. To nominate a colleague, contact Communications Manager Larissa Breedlove  at lab4020@med.cornell.edu
