With support from the President’s Council of Cornell Women, the Weill Cornell Department of Medicine, the Diversity Center of Excellence, the Weill Cornell Medicine chapter of the Latino Medical Students Association hosted the first Latinas in Healthcare Winter Mixer. The event was open to students, trainees and professionals in the fields of medicine, nursing, physician’s assistant, social work, administration, and more. An invitation was also extended to Latinas at neighboring institutions, including Memorial Sloan-Kettering and Hunter College. Thirty-five attendees enjoyed dinner and dessert while connecting over shared heritage and interests. Given the enthusiasm of attendees, LMSA is looking forward to hosting another Latinas mixer in the future.
