Dr. Paul Martin, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, and Associate Medical Director for Patient Experience at NYP, has been named 2020 Physician of the Year by the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital’s Department of Nursing.
Described as an engaging collaborator, a patient-centered physician, and a true friend, Dr. Martin was honored with the award on August 13, 2020. The celebration was held on Greenberg 5 North where Dr. Martin is the unit director. In a safe environment, with all wearing their masks, Dr. Martin was joined by Rosanne Raso, VP and Chief Nursing Officer, NYP, Rhoda Redulla, Magnet Program Director, NYP/Weill Cornell, and numerous colleagues, nurses, and staff.
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition of our enduring nursing-physician partnership, which is based on mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared goal of providing excellent care for our patients,” says Dr. Martin.
The Department of Nursing gives the Physician of the Year Award to recognize physicians who consistently practice with nursing and support staff in a collaborative, collegial, and respectful manner.
