For the past 20 years, we have maintained a vibrant and robust program that focuses on establishing a racially and ethnically diverse resident body that adequately reflects our multiethnic society. We have accomplished much over the past two decades, but there is more work to be done. We have worked with our residents and faculty to evaluate and expand our diversity and inclusions efforts. In collaboration with the medical college, we have developed initiatives that will support our LGBT community, and that engage members from medical students to faculty.
As we look to the future, we are guided by a message championed by NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital: "Amazing Things are Happening Here." We are excited about the amazing things that can happen when the best minds representing differences in race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, disability, religious practices, life experiences, and other important areas are brought together. We look forward to learning from and working with key community and institutional partners in our effort to establish a culture of diversity and inclusion. We hope that you'll join us in this effort.
