At the Internal Medicine Residency Program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, we are deeply committed to training the next generation of compassionate, intellectually curious, and well-rounded clinicians. As Program Director, I am proud to lead a program that prioritizes mentorship and individualized career guidance—whether residents pursue academic medicine, subspecialty training, primary care, or other paths. Our faculty are dedicated to fostering professional growth through meaningful relationships and personalized support.
Our curriculum is designed to build clinical excellence and intellectual rigor. Residents receive focused training in evidence-based medicine, clinical reasoning, point-of-care ultrasound, and medical education. We also offer protected Academic Time and simulation-based learning experiences to reinforce key skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Our diverse and urban patient population—drawing from all five boroughs of New York City—provides a rich clinical landscape. Residents care for patients from around the world, encountering a wide range of endemic diseases, cultural beliefs, and approaches to healthcare, which fosters cultural humility and prepares them to deliver equitable, high-quality care.
Training at our program means exposure to our world-class partners, including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rockefeller University, and Hospital for Special Surgery. Each site offers unique opportunities to engage with complex cases, cutting-edge research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This breadth of experience ensures our residents graduate with a comprehensive understanding of internal medicine and the confidence to lead in any clinical or academic setting. Our strong research culture across these institutions also provides unparalleled exposure to innovation and leadership in academic medicine.
We are proud of the vibrant, inclusive community we’ve built—one that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning. If you’re seeking a residency program that will challenge you, support you, and prepare you to make a meaningful impact in medicine, we invite you to explore what makes our program truly exceptional.
