Doctors and Students Assisting with COVID-19 Vaccine Effort to Address Hesitancy, Access

Dr. Julianne Imperato-McGinley, Director, CTSC, and Professor of Medicine, WDOM, is leading an effort to help make vaccination for COVID-19 available in trusted spaces within people’s own neighborhoods. Dr. Imperato-McGinley is working with Jeff Zhu, Managing Director, CTSC, and with other physicians, as well as Hunter College nursing students, to implement a plan to reassure and encourage people to receive a vaccine. It is estimated that 70 to 90% of the population needs to be vaccinated to reach herd immunity and bring the COVID-19 pandemic under control.
