Dr. Lindsay Lief, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, has been appointed Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell, East Campus, effective July 1, 2018. In her new role, Dr. Lief will help establish and run a post-discharge ICU clinic, while also fulfilling her duties as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Assistant Attending in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Dr. Lief devotes her clinical time to caring for critically ill patients and their families, both during their ICU stays and after discharge from the hospital. She is the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Embolism Response Team (PERT) which brings multidisciplinary care to inpatients with high-risk pulmonary emboli. Her research interests, through the Center for Research on End-of-Life Care, are in identifying and treating unrecognized symptoms in critically ill patients; and in improving outcomes for both ICU patients and their families, as well as the staff providing their care.
