Dr. Stracher Appointed Chief Medical Officer of Weill Cornell Medicine


Dr. Adam R. Stracher

Dr. Adam R. Stracher, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, WDOM, has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer of Weill Cornell Medicine.

In his role as Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Stracher will provide clinical leadership and direction on policies and programs that impact the health of faculty, staff, students, board members, and patients at Weill Cornell Medicine. To that end, he will work closely with NewYork-Presbyterian and multiple administrative offices throughout the institution.

Dr. Stracher also serves as the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and as Director of Primary Care. He received his M.D. from the State University of New York Health Science Center and completed his residency training in internal medicine and a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical.

Dr. Stracher has been credited with playing a key role in providing guidance and oversight from the start of the pandemic. His efforts have been indispensable in terms of developing and implementing policies that have benefitted patients, healthcare workers, and the entire community.
