We are so grateful for your support. You can make a gift directly online to any of the following areas:
The Advancing Medicine Fund
The Advancing Medicine Fund supports initiatives across the Weill Department of Medicine, enabling our faculty to:
- deliver outstanding patient care
- carry out cutting-edge research
- educate future generations of physician-scientists
Our physicians treat patients from all backgrounds throughout the vibrant multicultural communities of New York City, and from around the world. Our doctors and scientists are dedicated to helping patients who face any number of health challenges, like cancer, heart disease, kidney disorders, infectious diseases and more. The Weill Department of Medicine offers life-saving therapies and treatments to address not only these critical illnesses, but preventative care to ensure healthier futures for all.
The Fund for the Future
Cultivating the next generation of internal medicine researchers means supporting early-career scientists as they transition from training to their first faculty positions at Weill Cornell Medicine. The Fund for the Future helps bridge this critical period, providing vital funding to promising junior faculty members.
Backed by the generosity of our donors, the Fund for the Future provides support to protect a physician-scientist’s time and allowing them to focus on scientific discovery. Success is measured by the receipt of external competitive awards, such as the NIH’s Research Career Development (K) awards. 51% of Fund for the Future recipients have received a K award – which far outpaces the national average!
The Racial Justice Fund
The patients we treat are a true reflection of New York City in all its ethnic, racial, religious and socioeconomic diversity. The Weill Department of Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional care, which means addressing health-care disparities, achieving health equity and promoting cultural diversity among our faculty, fellows and house staff. By building a team that mirrors the community we serve, we are creating a more inclusive and equitable health-care environment.
Your support of the Racial Justice Fund can create opportunities to foster research in health-care disparities and policy; educate physicians on the sociocultural influences affecting a patient’s health, beliefs and behaviors; and expand the relationships we are building with the community.
The Residency Innovation Fund
The Residency Innovation Fund provides support for the house officer training program that trains 140 residents per year. The fund allows the purchase of specialty equipment, expansion of technology uses, support for travel to conferences, and research and other academic projects that allow the program to advance, evolve and remain at the forefront of medical education and care.
