Dr. Anthony Hollenberg, a premier physician-scientist in the field of endocrinology, has been appointed to serve as Chairman of WDOM effective February 1, 2018.

Dr. Henry W. Murray has been appointed to Student Ombudsperson, coinciding with Weill Cornell Medicine’s newly created Student Ombudsperson Office. Dr. Murray will serve as a neutral and independent party assisting students through discussion and by providing valuable information to address their concerns and resolve problems.
Dr. John P. Leonard has been appointed to serve as the Interim Chair of the Weill Department of Medicine (WDOM) and a search for a new Chair for the WDOM has been initiated. Dr. Leonard is also the Associate Dean of Clinical Research at WCMC, the Chief of the Lymphoma Service, and is Associate Director for Clinical Research of the Weill Cornell Cancer Center.
After a nationwide search, Dr. Augustine M.K. Choi has been appointed to serve as the Stephen and Suzanne Weiss Dean of Weill Cornell Medicine and Cornell University’s provost for medical affairs.
Dr. Julie Magarian Blander is the recipient of significant funding from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Burroughs Wellcome Trust Fund, and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Scholar Award.
The conference was designed to highlight research programs within the Department, expand scientific collaborations, promote the exchange of knowledge between trainees and senior investigators, and foster the development of the next generation of researchers.
Dr. Yoon Kang has been promoted from Assistant Dean for Clinical Curriculum to the newly created position of Associate Dean for Program Development and Operations of Medical Education. Dr. Kang is also the Director of the Margaret and Ian Smith Clinical Skills Center at Weill Cornell Medicine. She has received numerous teaching awards at Weill Cornell.
