The Weill Department of Medicine (WDOM) is pleased to announce that Anna Lezon has been appointed Associate Director of Budget and Finance for the Department of Medicine, effective July 1, 2023. Since joining Weill Cornell Medicine in 2015 as an administrative coordinator in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, Anna has served in roles of increasing responsibility, including grants administrator, research manager, and, most recently, financial manager in the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
WDOM Department leadership conducted a rigorous external search to fill this critical role. We are incredibly impressed and excited that the most qualified and deserving candidate is one of our own. Anna is a prime example of a leader who has grown and advanced within the Department. Now, as associate director of Budget and Finance, Anna will oversee the Weill Department of Medicine’s entire financial portfolio.
Anna succeeds Peter Kam, whose service to Weill Cornell Medicine spanned close to 35 years. As we move towards new leadership for the finance team, we continue to reflect on and honor Peter’s immeasurable impact. Enormous gratitude is due to Karen Wong, Nadine Sylvian, Michael Li, and ThuTrang Du, who all helped lead our financial operations during this challenging leadership transition.
