Dr. Midoneck Appointed Associate Dean of Academic Affairs


Dr. Shari Midoneck

Shari R. Midoneck, M.D., has been appointed to the position of Associate Dean, Academic Affairs, effective January 1, 2010. Dr. Midoneck is the Ehrenkranz/Orli R. Etingin, M.D., Professor in Women's Health; Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in Women's Health at the Weill Cornell Medical College and an Associate Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Midoneck received her undergraduate degree from Union College in chemistry and her MD from Cornell University Medical College in 1989. She did her internal medicine training at The New York Hospital; completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at NYPH/Weill Cornell Medical Center; and in 1994, started her internal medicine practice at The Iris Cantor Women's Health Center at Weill Cornell Medical College, where she has an interest in preventative care for women.

Dr. Midoneck is the director of the third year Introductory Clerkship at Weill Medical College. She is actively involved in the education of medical students as a respected and talented teacher, and has won the WCMC Excellence in Teaching award four times; twice for her work as preceptor for the Medicine, Patients and Society I course; and twice for her work as the course director for the Introductory Clerkship.

The administrative Department of Academic Affairs is delighted that Dr. Shari Midoneck will be undertaking the administrative position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, continuing her service to the Weill Cornell medical students in a more official setting. In addition to her new administrative position, Dr. Midoneck will continue her internal medicine practice at the Iris Cantor Women's Health Center.
