On May 17, 2017, the Weill Department of Medicine (WDOM) hosted a graduation event for Quality University – WDOM (QUDoM) Class of 2017, beginning with presentations of their quality improvement (QI) research projects at WDOM Grand Rounds. The events concluded with an awards presentation held in Griffis Faculty Lounge. QUDoM is led by Dr. Jennifer I. Lee, Vice Chair for QPS, Dr. Robert J. Kim, and Savira Kochhar with support from Dr. Augustine M.K. Choi, Chair, WDOM.
This year’s class included:
- Drs. Naina Sinha Gregory and Jane Seley from the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism (Project: Decreased Rates of Inpatient Hypoglycemia Following Implementation of an Automated Tool in the Electronic Medical Record for Identifying Root Causes)
- Dr. Arun Jesudian from the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Project: Quality Improvement Initiative Increases Total Paracentesis and Early Paracentesis Rates in Hospitalized Cirrhotics with Ascites)
- Dr. Sanjai Sinha from the Division of General Internal Medicine/Section of Adult Internal Medicine (Project: What to expect that you're not expecting: A pilot video education intervention to improve patient self-efficacy surrounding discharge medication barriers)
- Dr. Stephanie Tang and Dr. Renuka Gupta from the Division of General Internal Medicine/Section of Hospital Medicine (Project: Impact of Hospitalist-Led Interdisciplinary Antimicrobial Stewardship Interventions at an Academic Medical Center)
