Dr. Robert Peck, an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases, has been honored with the 2019 Dr. Nathan Davis International Award in Medicine from the American Medical Association Foundation. Dr. Peck was appointed to Director of the Training Program at the Weill Bugando School of Medicine in Tanzania in 2007. Since then, he has mentored more than 240 U.S. medical residents, 40 medical students, 19 undergraduates, and 10 U.S. global health fellows.
The Dr. Nathan Davis International Award in Medicine is part of the American Medical Association’s 2019 Excellence in Medicine Awards and is given in recognition of outstanding international service that represents the highest values of altruism, compassion, and dedication. Dr. Peck was recognized in the areas of medical practice, medical education, and research.
