Dr. Hall-Ross Named Physician of the Year by Department of Nursing

Established in 2005, the award recognizes physicians who exemplify a spirit of collegiality and collaboration with the nursing staff. Dr. Sandra Hall-Ross, one of six recipients this year, was selected for her "open-minded, objective and inclusive approach" to patient care with the nursing staff.

Department of Medicine Welcomes Interim Co-Chiefs for New Division of Hospital Medicine

The Department of Medicine is delighted to announce that Dr. Salvatore Cilmi and Dr. Anthony Ogedegbe have agreed to serve as Co-Chiefs of the new Division of Hospital Medicine. The Department of Medicine began a national search for a Division Chief (and additional Hospitalists) a few months ago. We hope to welcome a new chief by July 2009.

Weill Cornell Medical Associates Was a Major Site For ACCORD Study

Weill Cornell Medical Associates (WCIMA), the primary practice for the Division of Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at WCMC, was a major site for the ACCORD study, an NIH-sponsored clinical trial spanning ten years, investigating the aggressive management of diabetes.

Johanna Martinez, M.D. Selected as Fellow

Johanna Martinez, M.D. has recently been selected as a fellow in the University of North Carolina's Training Program for Academic General Internists. Dr. Martinez is the only individual to be selected to this prestigious fellowship immediately upon graduation from her residency training.
