The Results, Rewards and Recognition Committee (R3) of the Weill Department of Medicine completed its bimonthly review. There were a record number of winners this cycle, including Super Stars, Star Performers, and a Silver Star recipient. Winners included: (Super Stars) Diane Alvarado, Senior Medical Secretary; Idelka Cruz, Registrar; Anais Jimenez, Senior Medical Secretary; Tasha Moore, Senior Medical Secretary; Maritza Negron-Mercado; (Silver Star) Tony Nepomuceno, Senior Patient Coordinator; (Star Performers) Danielle Guarneri, Jagsaran Natalie, Lorinel Munoz, Whitney Reid, Ilene Rivera, and Lizette Torres.
Diane Alvarado, a Senior Medical Secretary in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, was noted for her exceptional secretarial skills, reliability, and compassion in working with patients. Idelka Cruz, a Registrar in the Division of Endocrinology, was described as a role model for courteous and professional service and exceptionally efficient in scheduling appointments. Anais Jimenez, a Senior Medical Secretary in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology, has been working at the Multiple Myeloma Center for two years and during that time has expanded her skill sets in the area of myeloma with remarkable speed; she continually receives the highest level of recognition from patients. Tasha Moore, a Senior Medical Secretary in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, has excelled in scheduling, billing, and in always "taking the initiative" before being asked; Tasha was described as an outstanding representative of Weill Cornell. Maritza Negron-Mercado, a Senior Medical Secretary in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, was acknowledged by patients for her superb scheduling skills, compassion, and as an "angel of hope" for all future patients and their families who are dealing with a challenging illness.
The Silver Star was awarded to Tony Nepomuceno, who has previously been recognized as a Super Star Performer. Tony a Senior Patient Coordinator working at the Center for Weight Management and Metabolic Clinical Research, continues to excel while demonstrating focus on the job, sound judgment, exceptional follow-through, and as always, "He goes the extra mile."
