Dr. Lo and colleagues hope that by using adipsin or DUSP26 therapies, patients with type 2 diabetes will be spared from developing beta cell failure and thus spared from insulin injections.

Dr. Goyal Receives Prestigious Glorney-Raisbeck Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases

The New York Academy of Medicine has announced that the Glorney-Raisbeck Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases has been awarded to Dr. Parag Goyal. Dr. Goyal, currently a fellow in the Division of Cardiology, trained in internal medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine.

Dr. Pitt Appointed to Director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CVRI)

Dr. Geoffrey Pitt
After a national search, Dr. Geoffrey Stuart Pitt has been appointed to Director of the Cardiovascular Research Institute (CRVI) at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Pitt will be joining the Maurice R. and Corinne P. Greenberg Division of Cardiology as the Ida and Theo Rossi Distinguished Professor of Medicine in the Weill Department of Medicine in July of 2016. He will lead and direct the basic and translational research program focused on cardiovascular diseases and cardiovascular sciences.
