Dr. Dana Zappetti, has been appointed to Associate Dean for Student Affairs at WCM. Dr. Zappetti is also the Program Director for the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship; Assistant Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell; and Course Director for the Subinternship in Medicine at the Medical College.
Dr. Kapil Rajwani has received the Physician of the Year Award from the Department of Nursing. The Department of Nursing bestows this award to physicians who consistently practice with Nursing, as well as their support staff, in a collaborative, collegial, and respectful manner. Dr. Rajwani was noted for exemplifying the spirit of this award and for his devotion to the well-being of patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Fabio Giron has received the Physician of the Year Award from the Department of Nursing for his collaborative spirit and ongoing collegial support. The ICU Nursing Team noted that he is a transformational leader in the Intensive Care Unit and plays an instrumental role in facilitating collaboration with nursing and other members of the inter-professional team.
Dr. Fernando J. Martinez has been appointed as Chief of the Division of Pulmonology and Critical Care Medicine in the Weill Department of Medicine. The Gladys and Roland Harriman Professor in Medicine, Dr. Martinez is a premiere translational researcher in chronic lung disease.
The 25th Annual Weill Department of Medicine Awards were announced on June 29, 2016 at Medicine Grand Rounds. This award is presented annually to members of the Weill Department of Medicine below the rank of professor who perform on outstanding levels in the areas of clinical and/or basic biomedical research.
